Dear Lee Road families,
I hope you are enjoying the cooler weather -finally!
We will begin the month with the Kindergarten Family Breakfast on Thursday, November 2nd at 8:15am and finish out the month with the 4th grade breakfast on Thursday, November 30thth.
On Friday, November 11 we will have our annual Veterans’ Day Program to honor all Lee Road area residents who served our country. If you or your relative or friend is a veteran, please join us for the program, which begins at 9:00am for grades 2-8 and for community members. Younger students are invited to the dress rehearsal and will honor the day with classroom activities. There will be a small reception after the program for community members and veterans.
Basketball season begins this month, with our first game away at Fifth Ward on November 14th and our first home game on Tuesday, November 28th against Pitcher. We will also host a set of scrimmages against Folsom beginning at 4pm on November 15th.
The Thanksgiving holiday begins November 20. Schools reopen Monday, November 27th.
Our Student Council sponsors an annual food drive to assist the Covington Food Bank between Thanksgiving and Christmas. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn the value of helping others who are truly in need. Students are asked to contribute CANNED GOODS (no boxes please). Our food drive begins Tuesday, November 28.
As a reminder, please check your child’s progress regularly on Student Progress Center. Teacher gradebooks are available for you at any time on Student Progress Center; therefore, schools no longer routinely print interim reports. Of course, if you send a written request we will gladly print and send one home with your student.
In order to maximize our teaching time and ensure an orderly dismissal, checkouts will not be allowed after 2:45pm. When the bell rings for dismissal, all students should report either to aftercare, the gym for carline or to their bus.
Finally, on behalf of the Lee Road School family, we wish your family a peaceful and blessed Thanksgiving.
