December 2018

Dear Lee Road Families,

I hope your Thanksgiving holiday was a blessed one, filled with family and friends.  It is hard to believe, but Christmas and a brand new year are right around the corner, while this school year is already almost half over!

We have many coats and jackets in Lost and Found. Please have your child check for their belongings. Also, please remember to write your child’s name inside their clothing.

Student Council will sponsor their annual food drive, running from Dec. 4th through the 18th.  Students are asked to bring in nonperishable food items. The most needed items are cereal, dried beans, peanut butter, canned meat, rice and cornbread mix.  The classes that collect the most items per student will win their choice of a pizza or donut party.  A winner will be chosen from Pre-K-3rd, 4th -6th, and Jr. High.

Junior high basketball season is well underway. Games are listed on the calendar included with this letter. Typically, girls play first followed by the boy’s game. Please bring your student and help us cheer on our Rebel teams!

On Monday, December 3rd, Santa will be here for our annual Santa breakfast. He will arrive at the gym by 7:15 AM for photos; parents are welcome to have breakfast with their student on that day as well.  An order form for pictures is being sent home with this newsletter for your convenience.

The North Pole at Lee Road Christmas store, a fundraiser sponsored by our wonderful PTA, will be open from December 11th-13th.  Every student grade PK-6 will have an opportunity to shop on a particular day. A schedule of class visits will be sent home shortly so that parents will know when to send money.

Our band and choir will host their annual Madrigal Dinner the evening of Saturday, December 15th.

Kindergarten and 1st grade students will perform a “Very Pri-Merry Christmas” on Wednesday, December 19th at 9:00am.  Visitors will need to bring a state issued ID to check in.

Students will have a half day of school on December 21st.  Lunch will be served, and busses will run at noon when we dismiss. All students will ride one load on that day. That is also the last day of the second quarter, and the end of the first semester for our students.

Christmas vacation for Lee Road students begins at noon on December 21st; school reopens on Monday, January 7, 2019. Have a safe and blessed Christmas and a happy New Year!

Warm regards,
Kalinda Fauntleroy
